Uniform

UNIFORM

The school has adopted a uniform as an outward demonstration of the high standards of personal behaviour and commitment we expect of everyone. All pupils should wear it with pride and behave in such a way as to bring honour to the school whilst in uniform.

FOOTWEAR

All shoes (no trainers) must be black (including soles) and have no markings on them at allWe will not accept any form of sports shoe/trainer e.g. Nike Presto, Adidas Gazelle etc.   

Trainers must only be worn for PE activities.

We have provided a link with examples of shoes that are not acceptable to assist you.

Additional Information

All garments and footwear must be plain. The school ID badge must be carried at all times and should not be defaced in any way. No other badges must be worn except marks of achievement.

The outer coat may be any colour, but without slogans or pictures*. Any maker’s motif should be small enough to be covered by the equivalent of a credit card. Denim or leather coats and tracksuit or hooded tops/sweatshirts/body warmers are not permitted.

Pupils must never wear an outer coat instead of a blazer/pullover. Blazers must be worn at all times and outer coats should not be worn inside the school buildings.

Skirts should be of an appropriate length (maximum of a credit card width above the knee) and NOT rolled up at the waistband.

Whilst we have no desire to curb individuality, we do not expect to see extremes* of hairstyle in school. Hair should be of a suitable length - number 2 and above – and of a natural hair colour. Extreme styles such as tramlines/designs, unnatural hair colour, thick blocks, stripes or extreme colour contrasts will not be allowed. We do allow a low-fade up to ear height only, and this must not be a skin fade. Shaved lines in hair and eyebrows is also not permitted. Hair accessories should be minimal.

Make-up is permitted only from Year 11. (Should be lightly applied**). Make up is NOT allowed for students in Year 7 to 10)However, fake tan, false eyelashes, drawn on eyebrows, nail varnish, false/gel/acrylic nails, visible piercings or body art are not permitted.

Ears may be pierced but earrings must not be worn under any circumstances.

A wrist watch will be allowed but not any type of smart watch with Bluetooth communication or web enabled facility. No other jewellery is allowed.

 PE kit and swimming kit will not be needed on the first day of term in September. Pupils’ first PE lesson will be an information session when they will be given details of the activities they will be participating in during the term.

Please ensure that all clothing is clearly labelled with the child's name.

Mobile phones must not be seen, heard or switched on during the school day. Urgent messages can be passed on via the school office or through the year leader.

School cannot accept responsibility for any expensive items e.g. electronic devices. Such items, along with mobile phones, if seen or heard, will be confiscated by staff and on the first and second occasion, the phone will be confiscated for 24 hours and collected by the student. On the third occasion, the phone will be confiscated for 24 hours but collected by a parent/carer.

If pupils are seen using wearable technology e.g. iwatches/wireless headphones they will be confiscated.
