The Food technology department was delighted to welcome ex pupil Ruth Wright to talk to year 12 Food students at lunchtime. After taking A levels in Food, Biology and Geography Ruth completed a BSc in Nutrition and Food Science at Leeds university.
This was a four year course which included a year working in industry. Ruth enjoyed a year working for Pepsico working on crisp development, earning a salary of £1600.
Ruth has now been snapped up in the jobs market and has secured graduate employment with the 2 Sisters Food group, one of Britain’s top food companies (This was the only job she applied for). Ruth spoke about how much she enjoyed her time in Leeds and our students were able to ask questions about university life and the course that Ruth had taken.
