BTEC Level 3 Nationals – Performing Arts
If your aspiration is to work in the Performing Arts Industry then this course is for you. The BTEC Extended Certificate in Performing Arts is a highly practical, work-related approach to the subject, where students develop confidence and performance skills through a range of exciting and dynamic ‘hands-on’ projects.
Functioning as part of a small theatre company you will train in a variety of performance styles through workshops, rehearsal and performance, producing many productions of professional standard. You will investigate theatre practitioners work, develop skills and techniques for live performance and create performance work in response to stimulus work. You will also have the opportunity to:
- Be involved in workshops led by visiting directors and industry professionals.
- Audition for various college productions.
- Tour performance work to local theatres and schools.
- Take part in a variety of educational and theatre visits.
The BTEC Extended Certificate in Performing Arts is equivalent to 1 A-level. Most students combine the course with A-level Dance, Music, Music Technology or Theatre Studies, but you can select from a range of A Levels to suit your career path.
This course is accepted by all Drama Schools and most Universities for undergraduate courses (BA Degrees) related to the subject or teacher training.
