Sixth Form Admission Policy

Admission to Canon Slade School Sixth Form is for those students who wish to study within the ethos of a Church School and who meet the entry requirements for their selected programmes of study. Though it is not expected that all students will be of the Christian faith we do insist that all show respect for the Christian ethos of the school.

Canon Slade School offers 29 Level 3 GCE courses, BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science (equivalent to 3 A-levels),  and a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts.

Admission to the Sixth Form

Students are admitted to Canon Slade Sixth Form for a maximum of two consecutive years. The number of places available in Year 12 is 190. In the event of over-subscription to Year 12 the following criteria will be applied in order when offering conditional places:

(1) Students in Year 11 at Canon Slade School who meet the entry requirements stated below; and

(2) Students from other schools or colleges who meet the entry requirements stated below. The school will seek to admit a minimum of 20 external applicants.

Looked after children who meet the academic requirements will be given first priority.

The Governors reserve the right to admit a small number of students from Canon Slade School’s Year 11 for whom a bespoke one-year (accredited or otherwise) programme of study would be appropriate. These students would not need to meet the minimum admission requirement as set out below.
