On Saturday 7th December, Year 8-9 students and their parents are invited to a half-day cyber session in central Manchester. This event has been designed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), a part of GCHQ. CyberFirst comes to Manchester for the first time in partnership with BAE Systems and Manchester Digital, having run successfully in the South East last year.

CyberFirst will provide a fun opportunity for families to learn about the importance of computer science and how cyber technology will shape the future and the variety of careers available in this area. The activities will help parents and students choose their subjects at GCSE, and we hope it will inspire more young people to continue with computing and other STEM subjects in KS4.

The day consists of two sessions, with Year 8s in the morning and Year 9 is in the afternoon. To find out more and register, please visit the website: https://www.manchesterdigital.com/event/manchester-digital/cyberfirst

This is a great opportunity to give local young people in Greater Manchester an advantage with insight into cybersecurity careers and how to get into them – please share with teachers and parents in your network to spread the word.
