Dear Parent/Carer

I am writing to invite you to our Year 11 GCSE Information Evening which will be held in school on Tuesday 31 October from 6.00pm until 7.30pm. The aim of the evening is to provide information and guidance to parents/carers and our year 11 students regarding the upcoming GCSE examinations.

On the evening there will be a presentation from Mr Burton and Miss Musa, Mr Hesketh and Miss Tagg will speak on how to achieve success in English, Maths and Science. Mrs Smith and Mr Roberts will aid parents/carers on ‘what a parent can do’ and Dr Eves (Head of Sixth Form) will deliver a talk on ‘Post-16 pathways’. The presentations are aimed at providing key guidance to parents/carers and students on how best to prepare for examinations and cope with the pressure and external influences that comes with it.

Please note:

Students (and parents/carers) in B-N will be situated in the main school hall.Students (and parents/carers) in C-S will be situated in the chapel.

Hopefully following the evening, parents/carers will have a clearer picture on what is expected from them and will feel more confident in knowing that our students have the best possible chance of achieving excellent GCSE results.

At the end of the evening, there will be a selection of materials available for you to view and purchase (cash or cheque only please). These will include a booklet produced for parents/carers giving advice on ‘ how to best support your child through GCSEs ’ (only available to purchase on the evening) as well as some key revision guides which will be available to order via sco-pay at a later date.

We do hope that you will be able to join us so that we can continue to work together to support all students to achieve their full potential.

Yours sincerely

O T Roberts
Head of Year 11
